Scouts, take note that there will be Field Day on 16 August. Further instructions will be given to the game masters and programme ICs. After Initiation and NDP, we will focus on Field Day. Jiayou!

1st August CCA Plan

Hi Scouts,
Here is the CCA plan for tomorrow.Fall in time is 3pm and attire will be PT kit for all.
There are some things to take note:
-When you arrive for CCA,please put your bags more towards the left of the grandstand as there is NDP rehearsal tomorrow.
-Please sign and hand in the consent forms of the Y1 initiation this coming saturday.
-For those who have not handed in your donation draw tickets,please bring them tomorrow.
-For tomorrow's NDP rehearsal,there will be 2-3 full runs of the parade so please rest well and if you are not feeling well,please sound out.Oh and remember to memorise the recollections and the song.

This is the Plan for Tomorrow's CCA session:

Fall in at 3pm with 3 items and consent forms (If any). Attire will be PE tee and PE Shorts for EVERYONE (Including Year 2s because of Saturdays NDP). We will mainly be doing dance practice and finishing up the maintenance of equipment from Tuesday (for Y2s).

              4.45-- Dismissal

Plan for 'Spring Cleaning' 21/7/14

Hi Scouts,
As you all may know, there isnt really an official CCA session tomorrow, due to the Y-Lead thats going on in school. However, Ms Huang has asked us to do a spring cleaning behind the grandstand. Tomorrow will hence be an unofficial CCA (Everyone in Y1&2 SHOULD and MUST turn up) for the cleaning up of the area behind grandstand (including spars shed) with the Y2s taking charge. Time is from 3-6pm. FALL IN AS PER NORMAL AT 3pm WITH YOUR 3 ITEMS (PLEASE BRING A RAG). ATTIRE WILL BE PT KIT (CCA TEE/PE AND PE SHORTS)
LATECOMERS/THOSE WHO DON'T TURN UP WILL HAVE NAMES RECORDED WITH CONSEQUENCES DURING NEXT CCA SESSION. THOSE WITH NO RAG/3 ITEMS ALSO FACE PUNISHMENTS, SO PLEASE BRING THEM. ALSO, FAILURE TO BE IN PROPER ATTIRE WILL BE AN OFFENCE AS WELL.

Basically, Your ICs (And Standing PLs) are as follows:

Patrol 1: Axe Sharpening (Y2) and derusting; Derusting and polishing of mallets,
Patrol 2: Rope Whippings (Yr2s to take charge)
Patrol 3: YingTing Derusting and Polishing
All 3 Patrols to also Dry the YingSheng and also pick out the spoilt/worn out ropes
Patrol 4,5,6: Cleaning of Spars (With rags), Rearrangement of Spars neatly in the (briefly) cleaned spar shed.

Don't forget to bring a rag and don't be late!
*Try our best to finish tmr so Friday no need do again.

Phototaking

Take note that there will be photo taking on Friday, 18 July. Please prepare your FULL SCOUT UNIFORM beforehand. Make sure you bring all your uniform parts including your beret and it should be up to standard. Please only wear the SINGAPORE SCARF and the SINGAPORE WOGGLE. No funny uniform parts please.

Cancellation of Field Day

Hi Scouts,                                                                                                                               For today's event, it is unfortunately cancelled because of the heavy rain. 

Some people may wonder:                                                                                                           1) Why is the event cancelled if it has a wet weather plan?                                                                  - The activities planned are mostly outdoors and the location itself does not have many shelters to allow indoor activities. 

  2) Why is the event cancelled although the rain may subside?                                                            - According to the weather forecast, the rain will not stop anytime soon and even if it does, it is difficult to conduct activities with wet puddles everywhere.                                                                   - It will be also be dangerous for all of you when there are puddles around, so this event is also cancelled due to safety reasons.

Last but not least, we would like to clarify that the district commissioner had to make the tough decision of declaring this event cancelled although a lot of preparation work was done for this event. I understand that many of you, Scouts, may be annoyed because you had to wake up early, put on your uniform and travel for quite some time to the school to find out that the event is cancelled. However, the teachers also had to call up all the schools to inform them, so as to ensure that no one turns up at Jurong Lake Park, cancel the transport services, etc. For those who remained in school until 7am, you would have heard from Mr See that the Field Day may either be postponed or cancelled for the rest of the year, depending on the District's plan. 

On behalf of everyone, I would like to thank everyone who participated in the preparation work and kudos to the organisers for planning this whole event :D We really appreciate all your efforts.

For the rest of the weekend, please rest well and enjoy yourselves! Happy advance Youth Day!

5th July Field Day

Hi Scouts, 

For tomorrow's Field Day, please fall in at the grandstand at 6.45am (or earlier if possible) in your full Scouts uniform. Please also bring along your cca tee or in the year 1's case, PE shirt as we will be changing into half Scouts uniform afterwards. It is advised that you bring a small bag and enough water because the event will last the whole morning until 2pm. For those who would like to leave Jurong Lake Park directly after 2pm, we actually require manpower to help bring the logistics back to school, so you are strongly encouraged to volunteer your help to the troop :)
All in all, please portray a good image of our Scouts as there will be participants from other schools. We also hope that you enjoy your day tomorrow because it's a new experience for quite a lot of us. Thank you.
